To be really honest, with the exception of MMORPGs, a lot of games really don’t hold my attention all that well. Nowadays, I’d play a game for at most 30 minutes before I just go “meh…” or “ZOMG GOTTA KEEP PLAYING” and rarely is it the latter. Because of this, I tend to no longer buy games for my 360 except for XBLA titles.
I’m a fan of Digital Distribution. I can download games, play them briefly and not have to worry about putting it back in a case or anything like that. There are a few games I’ve been playing recently that I’d like to just talk really briefly about.
Virtual On: OT was originally a title released on the Dreamcast and Arcades. It is a… there has to be a name for this type of genre… But pretty much, it’s a one-on-one robot fighting game where you control your robot with two sticks. Considered the best in the series and also the fact that the 360 having dual sticks… I had to try this game out! :D To my surprise, the game has a level of depth that will really work out your dexterity skills as you’re shooting/evading/owning your opponent. This game can be VERY rough to get into though but once you get it down (and it’ll take you awhile), this game can be pretty entertaining with its online play.
One guy made this game and man… I can’t say his time was a waste at all. I remember when this game was being showcased as to how powerful a user can put into Microsoft’s XNA. It ended up being a full fledged XBLA title in the end and I give this guy props for the work he put into it. The best way to describe this game is that…. well… it’s Devil May Cry 2D. No, I’m not saying that as a simplified way as everyone else puts every single other game as (GoW is not DMC, trust me when I say that), the game is pretty damn difficult at some parts if you’re not careful… just like DMC.
By the way: this game is pretty bloody.
A remake of an original NES title. It’s… just a great game. @_@; I dunno what to write here.
